My background is in education. 17 years as a high school technology teacher and 18 years as a college professor teaching in the drafting and applied engineering programs at Danville Community College put me on this path.
After a 35-year career in education, I retired from teaching and spent two years working for a local surveyor. My final career will be as a home inspector. I have been a home inspector since 2019.
I have taught architecture at the high school and college level, drawn architectural plans for several residential builds, completed many house renovations, been a contractor on a residential build, and served a six-year stint as a board member for the Danville/Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity chapter, two of which were as the board chair.

The report also includes photos and descriptions of observed issues that may need to be addressed along with recommended repairs and maintenance.
