After a 35-year career in education, I retired from teaching and spent two years working for a local surveyor. My final career will be as a home inspector. I have been a home inspector since 2019.
I have taught architecture at the high school and college level, drawn architectural plans for several residential builds, completed many house renovations, been a contractor on a residential build, and served a six-year stint as a board member for the Danville/Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity chapter, two of which were as the board chair.

This typically takes longer to generate reports but customers seem to appreciate a format that mirrors items that you read on a daily basis. Construction terms are typically defined in the report along with any issues I find during the inspections. The report also includes photos and descriptions of observed issues that may need to be addressed along with recommended repairs and maintenance.
